Maiz y Agave: A Trendy Mexican Experience in Coral Gables

Lorena, our server, at Maiz y Agave was great! We had Maestro Dobel Diamante passion fruit margarita and Reserva de la Familia by Jose Cuervo Reposado Neat Cocktails. For Appetizers we had grilled octopus ( Pulpo Zarandeado), Mahi Ceviche and my favorite Tuna Carpacio. Main course we ordered Perscado Divorciado And Oaxaca Casserole. Overall great ambience with mariachis and nice dinning experience.

By far the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. The food was incredible, but what truly made the night unforgettable was Lesnier. Without even knowing it was my husband’s birthday, he made the celebration feel so special. He was kind, energetic, confident in the menu, and genuinely committed to making every moment enjoyable. I’ll absolutely be sharing this experience with my nearly 100k followers — not just for the amazing food, but for the welcoming environment and ambiance that Lesnier created for us. Thank you!!! Our waiter Roberto was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of the whole time- the table side salsa was very flavorful with the right amount of heat. The guacamole with pork rinds was very tasty too! The star of the show was truly our drinks! The jalapeño margarita and tamarind spicy margarita were so refreshing and to die for! My husband really enjoyed his pescado divorciado. The atmosphere was very enjoyable with mariachi playing around. The rooftop was really nice and good vibes. Would come here again and make sure to ask for Roberto! He’s great!

We celebrated my daughter’s wedding reception at Maíz & Agave, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Amanda, Rocio and her team went above and beyond to make the evening truly special. Their service was attentive, warm, and incredibly professional — they made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the entire celebration. The food was absolutely delicious, full of rich flavors and beautifully prepared. The drinks were fantastic as well, crafted with so much attention and creativity. Our guests had an amazing time, and we left with wonderful memories. Thank you to Amanda and her amazing staff for making such an important day unforgettable. Highly recommended for any special occasion or simply a great night out in Coral Gables. Can’t wait to go again

Went to Maíz y Agave on Valentine’s Day and it was fantastic. We started with the cochinita pibil with chorizo as an appetizer and it was incredible. My girlfriend got the fish tacos and they were amazing; fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I ordered the New York steak. I asked for medium rare, but it came out extremely rare. Normally I’d send that back, but it tasted so good I didn’t even care. I just kept eating it. I couldn’t stop. To drink, we got the extra-large mango margarita. Honestly, one of the best drinks I’ve ever had, if not the best. It was dangerously good. For dessert I had the tres leches, which was fantastic and a really nice, big portion. The atmosphere was great. The mariachis were a nice touch; maybe a bit loud at first, but once they moved on it was easy to relax and have a conversation. Total bill was about $160 with tax and tip included. 10/10. I’d definitely go back. Amazing food and drinks.

We had the Most awesome night !! I cannot stress enough how friendly the staff and management was!! The food was on Point and the drinks were made in heaven!! Jonathan (From Argentina) was I think the friendliest and most helpful of any other restaurant we have been. I give it 100 starts if I could!! We will definitely come back!! Kudos to the Maiz y Agave Team!! By the way the Restaurant is Super beautiful!!

We had such an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious — everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can really tell they care about quality. What truly made the experience unforgettable was our waitress, Maykell. Her service was outstanding from start to finish. She was attentive, friendly, professional, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. She checked in at the perfect times, gave great recommendations, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. (Side note: Don’t skip out on the tres leches desert, you won’t regret it!)

Maíz y Agave is an amazing spot for authentic and flavorful Mexican food. From the moment you walk in until the moment you leave, the service, atmosphere, and overall experience are outstanding. The food is absolutely delicious — I highly recommend the ribeye tacos and the lobster croquettes, both were incredible. The margaritas are top-notch as well, easily a 10/10. Everything comes together perfectly: great vibes, excellent attention, and unforgettable flavors. 100% recommended
